In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Vietnam, the National Commission of Culture and the Arts of the Philippines (NCCA) and the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the “Philippine Cultural Days in Vietnam” consisting of two performances and exhibition. Professor Felipe de Leon Jr, Chairman of the NCCA, led the Philippine delegation.

The Exhibition features the traditional wear of indigenous groups in the Philippines.

The three-day art exhibition entitled “Traditional and Contemporary: Masterpieces from the Schools of Living Traditions of the Philippines”  which held on 17-19 August 2016 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts highlights the creations of Philippine indigenous crafts – its colorful woven textiles and traditional wear, versatile bamboo crafts and functional woven mats. 

For the Art Performances, the winners and alumni of the prestigious National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in the Philippines performed classical works of International and Filipino composers at the Hanoi Opera House on 17 August 2016. Their second performance was at Lam Son Theatre in Thanh Hoa Province on 18 August 2016.
