The Philippine Embassy held its first activities with newly appointed non-resident Labor Attaché Ma. Celeste Valderrama in Hanoi on 24-26 April 2019 and inHo Chi Minh City on 27-28 April 2019. She was joined by SSS Foreign Representative Lester Paul S. Mata during the Ho Chi Minh City leg of her visit.

During her stay in Vietnam, Labatt Valderrama, who is based in the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Seoul, conducted individual consultations with members of the Filipino Community and held forums to discuss labor-related issues of Filipinos living in Vietnam.

Representative Mata from the SSS Office in HK also held individual consultations with the Filipino Community in HCMCity and joined Labatt Valderrama to discuss important reminders regarding SSS membership with the Filipino community.

Both Labatt Valderrama and SSS Representative Matawill conduct regular visits to Vietnam in the coming months.
