In response to the Philippine Embassy’s representation with the Vietnamese government concerning the entry of Filipinos to Vietnam in the time of COVID-19, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided the following information:
- The Vietnamese government has suspended the entrance to Vietnam for all foreigners.
- Exempted from this suspension are foreigners entering Vietnam as:
- Diplomats
- Government Officials on official visits
- Special Cases (experts, business managers and highly-skilled workers).
- Filipinos who plan to enter Vietnam as “Special Cases” must directly:

- Advise their employers/companies to submit said application at the People’s Committee of the province/city, where their employers/companies are located.
- Follow-up with their employers/companieson the status of Vietnamese government’s approval to issue entry visas.
The Philippine Embassy advises the public that:
- The entry into Vietnam by Filipinos who have been approved as “Special Cases” is still subject to availability of flights (e.g. commercial planes or charter flights arranged by employers/companies);
- and 2. The exit from PH by landbased OFWs is still subject to the “Revised POEA Rules and Regulations Governing the Recruitment and Employment of Landbased Overseas Filipino Workers of 2016.” (Please check for more details.)
